This friday sees the final instalment of HERE COMES THE SOUND at Joyces, 1-3 Piata Valter Marcineanu. To celebrate we have for your aural pleasure the random funk generator himself Mr Adam Whitaker, one half of London oddball dj duo and label owners of Unusual & Electric.
Hailing from the east side of London Town they bring a cacophony of sound, influenced by dub, funk, disco, electro, library sounds and stitch it altogether in a blanket of friendly weirdness.
They must be doing something right because after 6 record releases they have dj’s as diverse as Coldcut and Laurent Garnier singing their praises and for their last release they were granted entry to the Library music vaults of KPM to dig for loops and samples gaining them a full marks review from esteemed music journalist Kris Needs.
Adam will be armed with the latest party-starting vinyl, but he will not be alone, for tonight is a special night. As it’s the last party we will be rejoined by the dj’s who have previously graced the decks to play their top ten tracks of the year… and then there’s mention of some insignificant birthdays or something… hmmm.
Anyway, we’re going out with a bang, so join us for the non-stop party action from 11pm
